Such Fine details ! Natya Saraswati 💓The most delicate, intricate yet grandeur displays of medieval arts in the form of Sculptures.🤩The rich artistic form of stone carvings in #Hoysaleswara temple, Halebidu, Karnataka 🚩Built in 1120 AD, the Hoysaleswara temple of Halebidu is a in true sense a gallery of artwork. The instant sculpture of Goddess Saraswati has somewhat different creative sense from the traditional depiction of the Goddess holding a lute in hand while sitting upon a swan. Also notice the beads of japamala in the finger ! Showing the Higher level of intricate Craftsmanship ! 😍Halebidu has the finest of Indian Sculptural heritage. Here we see the Goddess in dancing mood with four hands, holding Vedas (holy book), Veena (lute), Kalasa (water pot) and Mala (garland) respectively signifying wisdom, music, purity and meditative senses. The goddess Saraswati had been used significantly in Hoysala art and in most of the Hindu temples in India during 8th to 12th centuries AD.Hindu Gods and Goddesses have traditionally been portrayed carrying various weapons. These weapons do not represent violence; they are symbolic of destroying the evil forces present within and around us.Although uncommon, even Sarasvati, the Goddess of wisdom, is depicted with weapons in hand, in several temples across India. A well known example of a sculpture of Sarasvati carrying weapons is from 12th century Hoysaleswara temple in Halebidu, Karnataka. Here is a 10-armed Sarasvati standing on her vehicle (vahana) Hamsa. She carries a mala and a book along with several weapons. She is depicted in a dancing form. This form of Sarasvatī known as Nāṭya Sarasvatī is typically shown carrying weapons. #THGAG #thehindugodsandgoddesses ♥️
